            I have visited many sites with good product lines only to be frustrated by their difficult to use online catalog or cheesy ordering system. Here are my picks for the most useful RV sites on the Net.

 RV Education 101

        Like many searching for RV information on the Internet, I found RV Education 101 by accident, such is the way of Web Surfing. Mark Polk and his wife Dawn have produced one of the finest sites available. They specialize in RV information...Lots of information.

      Mark Polk served our great country in the US Army and is now a retired Army Chief Warrant Officer Three. Mark has a very extensive RV background working in RV sales, plus years of experience in maintenance working as an RV technician, an RV sales manager, and Finance & Insurance manager.

 

       Dawn Polk is Mark’s wife and is RV Education 101’s Sales and Marketing director. After 15 years working in the cosmetics industry she shifted gears and pursued a career in RV sales. Adding her experience to Marks they started RV Education 101 in 1999.

        Mark noticed a common thread in many RV sales; after a bewildering amount of information was delivered to the customer at the pre-delivery walk through, much of it was promptly forgotten. Recognizing a void in the RV Education market, Mark started RV Education 101.

        Now they produce and sell educational videos, DVDs and eBooks on how to use your RV. I love the professional quality that they use to share their information. Mark speaks directly to you, with an experienced voice that understands your needs. If, like me, you forgot most of what the dealer told you when you picked up your RV; here’s your chance to review the same, and somewhat enhanced, information at your leisure.

        One of their products, Checklists for RVers, contains 35 checklists. Wow, 35! If you think you do a thorough job of packing, inspecting, hitching, or dealing with awning set-up; you’ll be surprised at what you may be forgetting to do. I am a pilot and know the importance of checklists; now I know they are not just for flying.

Changin' Gears

    I wasn't thrilled with the idea of providing a link to someone's web site; about how they made the jump to the RV Lifestyle. Then I read the "About Us" page on their Web Site. Usually this transition takes place when a couple is within a few years of retirement or already retired. Charlie and Landra's transition into the RV Lifestyle occurred earlier, much earlier!

    Here's a young couple that have chucked everything, jobs, home, roots, to become fancy free. If you feel your roots run too deep to make this leap of faith, visit this site and read the "About Us" page.

    But the site is much more than a personal story; Charlie and Landra have created a web site about the Recreational Vehicle lifestyle. Here you can learn about RV camping; RV travel; motor homes; trailers; RV buying, renting, and selling; and other aspects important to the RV lifestyle.

    Their site is included here because there may be a few of you contemplating living with your toys full-time. You can do it, here's one example.
